Auto Auction GavelWhen visiting a car auction that is open to the public, it is important to remember to bring these things in order to avoid any hassle later on.

    1. Driver’s License - It is very important that you have non-expired, state issued, photo identification.  If your license is not valid, you will be unable to purchase auto insurance.
    2. Your form of payment – Be sure to contact the auction prior to the sale date to verify that they accept your preferred form of payment.  Most car auctions will take cash and major credit cards.  A few may take personal checks but they will likely hold your vehicle until the check clears.
    3. Smartphone - Bring your smartphone so that you can do quick searches to research a vehicle or even text pictures of a vehicle to someone who may be more mechanically-inclined.
    4. Flashlight - Be sure to bring at least a pocket LED flashlight to help you better inspect the vehicles under the hood and elsewhere.
